Jenay E. Iurato has extensive boutique and large law firm experience, she has earned widespread recognition representing individual and corporate clients in a variety of matters. Ms. Iurato’s practices in health law, civil and commercial litigation, contracts, corporate law, labor and employment law.

Her health law practice includes representing physicians and healthcare providers/entities in contractual disputes, reimbursement, regulatory matters, fraud and abuse, audit defense, Stark, HIPAA, and other healthcare matters. Ms. Iurato also assists her healthcare clients in a wide range of corporate transactions.

Ms. Iurato also serves as local counsel to out-of-state law firms and a contract attorney to law firms seeking temporary legal services. In addition, she serves as an attorney’s fees expert in cases providing expert analysis, opinions, affidavits, and testimony. She also currently serves as an Expedited Commercial Panel Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”).

Through representation of county agencies, municipalities, and fire districts, Ms. Iurato also has experience providing legal advice in all areas of public records law, governmental ethics, code enforcement, and land development law. Ms. Iurato has also served as a frequent presenter at Red Rock Leadership Training Classes in Tampa, Florida and as a faculty member for various seminars on litigation, corporate, employment, and health law topics.

Education: Ms. Iurato earned her J.D. and M.B.A. from Stetson University College of Law in 2000, and her B.S. in Business Administration and B.A. in Spanish from Pepperdine University in 1994. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Iurato worked as a paralegal for the State of New Mexico Risk Management Division and Department of Health.

Honors: Ms. Iurato has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer (2015-2017) and a Florida Rising Star (2009-2012) by Super Lawyers® magazine. She was also recognized as a Florida Trend’s Legal Elite in 2014, 2015, and 2017, and a Legal Elite, Up & Comer in 2012. She was honored to receive the prestigious Leader in the Law award from the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (2017). In 2016, Ms. Iurato graduated from The Florida Bar William Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy. In 2014, the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association honored Ms. Iurato at its Eighth Annual Scholarship Gala with the Luis “Tony” Cabassa Award for her human trafficking advocacy and pro bono legal assistance to human trafficking survivors and victims. Ms. Iurato also received Stetson University’s President’s Award in 2014 and was elected to serve on Stetson University College of Law’s Board of Overseers, for which she will serve another three year term. Ms. Iurato is also a recipient of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2009 Up & Comers Award. In 2009, Ms. Iurato also participated in Leadership Tampa.
