Lianne Ankner is a founding partner of Ankner & Levy, P.C. For 27 years, Lianne has focused her legal career on representing health care clients, primarily advising them on regulatory, transactional, and patient care issues.

Lianne’s clients include hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, management services organizations, physician group practices, medi-spas, clinics and individual physicians, nurses and other clinical providers. In her practice, Lianne structures and negotiates joint venture arrangements, acquisitions, mergers, affiliations and disaffiliations. On a general counsel basis, she forms new business entities and assists clients with on-going operational matters and governance issues.

She advises clients on a number of regulatory matters, including compliance with Federal and State fraud and abuse laws (anti-kickbacks, false claims and Stark), HIPAA and state privacy laws, and clinic licensing and determination of need matters. Lianne has a great deal of experience assisting clients with patient care, peer review confidentiality, and regulatory reporting matters.

Lianne is a member of the Massachusetts bar, the Boston Bar Association (Health Section) and the American Health Lawyers Association. She has been named a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” in Boston Magazine every year since 2007, as a Chambers-ranked lawyer every year since 2010, and as a Forbes Black Book lawyer.

Lianne clerked for the Honorable Francis P. O’Connor of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for the term 1995-1996. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School, and her bachelor’s degree from McGill University. Prior to forming Ankner & Levy, she was a partner in the Health Law Department of McDermott Will & Emery in Boston.
